Founded in Aya, Miyazaki in 1989, Glass Art Kuroki has become one of Japan's most respected names in contemporary glass artistry. Through a unique fusion of traditional Japanese aesthetics and innovative glassmaking techniques, the workshop has created a distinctive artistic world recognized both in Japan and internationally.

The studio was established by Kuniaki Kuroki, a master glass artist whose work has been honored by the Japanese Government and selected by the Imperial Household. For decades, he pursued the beauty of Japan through glass, developing works that express nature, changing seasons, and the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship.

Today, the legacy continues through the second generation, who carries forward both the techniques and philosophy established by the founder. Respect for materials, dedication to artistic excellence, and a commitment to preserving Japanese beauty remain at the heart of every creation.

Glass Art Kuroki is especially known for celebrated series such as KORIN, New Century Romance, and Aya Kiriko, each exploring different expressions of Japanese culture, nature, and artistic imagination through luminous glass.

Watsugi is honored to introduce the story, philosophy, and craftsmanship of Glass Art Kuroki to people around the world who value authenticity, heritage, and human skill.

"Glass becomes most beautiful when it captures both light and the spirit of the maker."
